I love the way Hanno plays – he doesn’t bite Derek, directly; he bites next to Derek’s head and pushes his cheek against Derek’s face and neck and then he switches sides.

Derek is from Yakima.  (Old Derek is from Yakima, too.)  He survived parvo virus.  Derek’s previous owner dropped him off at a vet and never returned to take him home.

Tonight, I flew back to Seattle from Washington, D.C.  After the plane landed, I found some new messages waiting for me.

The black and tan shepherd’s name is Henry.  Hanno really looks up to him.  I love this video because it shows Hanno’s beautiful psychology and temperament.

Derek was having trouble walking, so I left him behind to bring the car over.  These are some of the last pictures that were taken of Derek.
